What Is Netball?
Netball is play on a rectangler court that is measured 30 meters by 15 meters the court is divided into 3rds, the meter 3rd is known as the center 3rd, and the two at the end known as the goal 3rds. On each of the goal 3rds, there are semi circles which has a net and the in the middle is where the team starts and restarts when ever a team scores. Each netball team has seven players on court, each player has a specific name. Each specific names are, goal keeper, the goal defense, the wing defense, the center, the wing attack, the goal attack, and the goal shooter. In addition, you can easily spot which position each player is playing, because each player has two letters on there jerseys symbolizing their position that they are playing. Just like basketball, netball is made up of four quarters lasting 15 minutes. In order to score goals, you have to be in the goal in order to shoot.

Offense: center (c), wing attack (wa), goal attack (ga), and goal shoot (gs)
Defense: wing defense (wd), goal defense (gd), and goal keeper (gk)
Basic Netball Rules!
Here are some basic netball rules:
1. Can't travel with the ball.
2. Only 7 people allowed on the court.
3. Cannot steal or hit the ball out ones hands.
4. You must be 3 feet away from the people when defending.
5. You cannot hold the ball for more than 3 seconds.
6. A players is not allowed to move into areas where they are not designated to.
7. When the ref calls a defense to the circle, they have to stand beside the shooter.
8. When the ball goes out of bounce for any team, they have to hand the ball over to the opposing team.

Simple netball drills for kids
Here are a few simple drills routines that will help your child with the basics of netball:
Get in a circle and each kid will be given a number and they have to remember their number. Next step each kid has to call out the persons number and throw 1 ball around, this helps on concentration.
Another drill is in a circle and each kid will use eye contact and each kid needs to be aware of their surroundings. In addition, the children will be throwing 2 balls around by using eye contact.
